GPS Kit - Offline GPS Tracker App Reviews

I agree with RisingConviction. I use this app in remote locations and it was great. I referred many friends. But now it is buggy. When I zoom in (while I am online) the maps dont load. Downloading offline maps takes forever. Maybe someone else out there will make a good replacement? Until i havent found a replacement for getting offline satellite maps. I use Gaia too, but topo maps are not the same.

Favorite app since iPhone first came out. Used it every time I go mtn bike. Made a wish for my birthday it would be brought back to what it once was.

I love this GPS app. I am a Colorado hiker with over 80 separate summits and long-distance backpacking experience. I load my GPS before I leave and can depend on its maps and locator offline. Its triangle locator points me in the right direction every time. I can edit tracks and send out my maps and tracks to friends with ease. It took me awhile to learn to use its features properly, and then its smooth sailing. My only wish is that its corresponding track editor crashes less. But Ive still had success. I highly recommend this to beginner hikers who dont want to spend as much on a new GPS.

I would give this app 5 stars, but recently it has been giving me lots of trouble when trying to import KMZ files. At first it crashed the app to the point where I had to delete and reinstall (which also wiped out all of my saved geodata, by the way), and now after reinstalling the app simply will not load imported KMZs. I am not sure what is going on but I dont like it.

App worked great when I first bought it a year or so ago however it has started to continually have me calibrate it by rolling the phone around. The map also briefly disappears when the phone is tilted or when I zoom in or out. Love the app just wish they would fix it.

The maps are so bad - no detail. Deleting right away. Save your money and dont waste it here.

New review: After latest update I can no longer trust the app to display cached maps offline. Sometimes they are blurry. Sometimes they dont display at all. So in the backcountry, maybe having a map means not having a map you can trust. Which means this app is now just about useless to me. -sad Old review below: Dont even carry my Garmin Oregon anymore. This thing does it all so much better. Very precise and SO much easier to install offline maps than a Garmin handheld. I use it trout fishing, mountain biking, hiking, road riding, etc. Worth every penny.

How do you guys figure that the blurry satellite image is useable? Please address this flaw. Its a big deal. The app is good but this really turns it into some what of a let down. Its so blurry that you cannot zoom in at all.

This app great for off road or hiking! Is there anyway you can add 3d view?

I use this to track my kayaking and bike trips. This app is great!

Great app for outdoors activities, the offline maps is great and this app can take the place of a gps device provided you have away to keep your phone charged

ive seen this app being used on my buddys phone. but i bought the latest version and the maps are blurry. please fix or regund my $9.99. thanks.

Satellite download is painful. If youre trying to download lets say 100 tiles it will pause after each tile loads so you have to hit the resume download 100 times. Satellite images are blurry. Probably the worst $10 ever spent. I wish I could get a refund.

This app was my #1 now its worthless with these blurry maps, fix it!

Work pretty well up until iOS 8. When I zoom in it closes program. I wonder if there will be an update.

I love this app! Its great for hunting and hiking. Only problem is on iOS 8 I cant use offline maps.

The maps used by this app are blurry especially when zoomed in. Use Google maps instead and save your $.

Not for the outdoor adventures at all. Wasted $10 to get a tacking service. No useful boundaries overlays like State Land, Natinal Parks,and Indian Reservations. Showing the same google/bing maps you get for free from their websites(or the Maps App already on your phone) you get a way to retrace your steps, or take the same trip twice with the track portion of this app. If your looking for a way to show everyone what path you took on your last walk-a-bout, this app is for you.

Used to be a nice app but now map is so fuzzy its worthless. And why would I buy one of their $300 apps after seeing the lack of effort they put into this app? Have contacted support without response. I think they all died. If they bring things up to snuff Ill reevaluate.
